Creative Writing Workshop n°1

The Umbrella Man - Continuation of the story:

While we were standing there, alone in the rain and waiting for a taxi, my mother started to feel very nervous, almost as if she had seen a ghost. She took almost five seconds to get fully blushed. I did not know what was happening. Out of nowhere, she showed me the umbrella that she was holding in her left hand. It was stained with dark blood. I saw my mother, she was petrified and scared, but I did not understand why that old man would give her an umbrella like that. I tried to ask her what was happening. She whispered:
-"Please, daughter, stay calm. I don't know what is happening but I've seen in that corner a man that is similar to that old man. I've seen him twice in one minute and it seems he is watching us."
At that moment I was horrified, who could be watching us and why? Why that old man, who seemed to be a peaceful person would give us a bloodstained umbrella? While all of this was occurring, my mom held my hand like if she was about to lose me, like if she knew something bad was going to happen. After she calmed a bit, she told me in a calm way:
-"Dear daughter, I'm afraid that I won't be able to be with you in this life, at least. According to what I read from the sheet of paper that was above the umbrella, it seems that the blood is infected with something. I want to ask you something and please, do not argue with me. I want you to go to the police station, find a policeman and tell him to call an ambulance. I love you so much. Please, do this for me and do it fast. I'll be right here."
In that exactly moment I felt deep inside me that my mom was talking serious. After she told me that, she showed me the paper in which was written the information about the infection. I just ran to the cops no matter the rain or cold, I wanted to make my mom feel calm and relaxed.
Once I arrived to the police station, I told them my problem and they were pretty fast. They went to see my mom with special suits and an ambulance. They took her umbrella and she blacked out, but that happened because she was under a lot of pressure. The paramedics took me and my mom into their ambulance and we rushed to the hospital. After my mom got healed by the medicine, the cops talked to us and told us that the old man who gave us the umbrella was a crazy person who escaped from the asylum by killing a doctor and deceiving all of the personal with the cloth who he robbed from the doctor.
Now, after three years of that ugly incident, my mom has not recuperated from the stressful situation she lived. but I'm taking care of her. She showed me that I am the most important thing of her life and I have to pay her back.

Well as we could see in the previous essays India has a lot to contribute to the world, is a country full of magic and knowledge that has been created and builds throughout the years and only by his population, a population that have had the joy and pleasure of conceive a great homeland.
In the first essay concerning art & music we saw that India has a lot of material. The art of India is mainly characterized by being a reflection of India's complex society, multiethnic and multicultural. Also has a mainly religious art serving as a transmission medium of the various religions that have marked India: Hinduism, Buddhism, Islam, Christianity, and so on. We also noticed as a distinctive feature of Indian art its drive towards integration with nature, as an adaptation to the universal order, considering that most natural elements (mountains, rivers, trees) for the Indians have a sacred character. The first Indian art forms are reflected by the Harappa Culture in ceramics and engraved seals. During the Vedic Period sacred books were written today have a great importance in Indian culture, such as the Mahabharata and the Ramayana. While the Mauryan Empire development occurs in the arts. In terms of architecture, is a used primarily stone and decorative theme such as cane, zoomorphic capitals, principles of Buddhist doctrine and lions symbolize the Buddha.

The Indian literary tradition is primarily oral and essentially poetic. The first works were meant to be sung or recited and were thus handed down from generation to generation before being written. Thus, texts can be preserved for several centuries after its date of composition. On the other hand, much of the literature is religious in nature, or is it a recreation of stories from the two great epics written in Sanskrit, the Ramayana and the Mahabharata and mythological texts called Puranas, their authors are often unknown. The biographical details of the routes of the early Indian authors appear only much later stories and legends, so that any attempt to establish a history of Indian literature raises more questions than answers. Usually much less is known of Indian poet who died in early nineteenth-century Spanish poet Jorge Manrique medieval or Roman poet Virgil.

India is a country in which costumes and traditions have a lot of importance and not following them could be like disrespect for the rest of the persons. Let's talk about Hindu greeting, men use the word Namaste, Namaskar or Namaskaram to say hello, joining hands to his chest as if in prayer and bowed his head forward like a typical oriental reverence. Namaste is an ancient way of greeting and farewell symbolizes humility and simplicity. So, Western friends, is really important to mention that the kiss on the cheek and a hug from a man to a woman or vice versa is frowned upon here so I have to avoid such expressions of affection. It is important to mention that it is considered quite natural to see two men holding hands strolling. This does not mean they are gay, but a way of expressing friendship. If we talk of marriage, you'll want to know that even in this country, marital unions, and most especially in rural areas are still arranged by families from the same couple. For the Hindu custom, love goes into the background because love is learned during the cohabitation.
Now we talk about the Ramayana, another Sanskrit epic poetry book. This form of epic narrative tells us about life, travel and reincarnation of Sri Rama, a beautiful story filled with tragedy, the legendary sage and author Valmiki. According to Hindu tradition, the author received illumination from God to write this text. He said that the text did not come out of his imagination but it was kind of scribes of God. You should know that this book is really extensive since it consists of about 24,000 verses. She is attributed to Brahma as the creator of the world is well represented with four faces whose eyes are directed towards the four points in space. Believers give the award to be a symbol of the four Vedas, known as the four ages making up the world. In case you did not know, Brahma is a deity very interesting, usually during the day knowing that the universe is created and at night turns into chaos, all governed by it. Myths about the cycles of creation of the world have traditionally been different but many of them with the participation of Brahma. Another important theme of this mythology is about an elixir of immortality at the hands of the gods. The unanimous decision was carried out in the navel of the world, i.e., on Mount Meru, the mythical mountain of 109 peaks, home to Lord Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma. All the gods of India at the meeting discussed ways how to obtain the elixir of immortality, but it was only in attempts although it was known that this elixir was in the depths of the ocean. Importantly, in the sacred literature of India explains the link between eternal life and the precious metal gold.
India's cuisine is very diverse, is the result of the diversity of cultures that have enriched along the colonization that occurred during several centuries. Most of the flavors of India are closely related by significant usage of spices and a variety of vegetables. Within this general trend there is a huge diversity of local styles.
The most important ingredients used in Indian cuisine are rice, atta, a special type of wheat flour that is made with bread, and at least five dozen varieties of pulses. The most important is the chana (peas), and the toor (Indian chickpeas), urad (black lentils) and mung (green lentil). The chanaigo is used in many forms, can be used as flour passed through a mill which is responsible for removing the skin, and the product obtained is called dhuli eg urad and mung or dhuli sometimes occurs mixed with rice (as kichri, a food that Hindus believe excellent for digestion) and very similar to the pea, but smaller and with much more flavor. Legumes are used exclusively in the form of dal (pulses without skin, with the exception of chana is cooked to be served at breakfast or processed into flour or kiss. Most curries are fried in vegetable oil. In North India used mustard oil is traditionally the most suitable oil for frying, while in the west is commonly used peanut oil. In South India, coconut oil is used. In recent decades have been gaining popularity sunflower oil and soybean oil.
It seems that Indian does not have many hobbies in their daily life but they have officially a national sport and it is field hockey, which is administered by the Federation of Hockey India. The hockey team won the World Championship India 1975, also credited eight gold medals, one silver and two bronze at the Olympics. However, the most popular sport in the country is cricket, the national cricket team of India won the Cricket World Cup 1983 and Cricket World Cup Twenty20 2007, and who shared the Champions Trophy ICC 2002 in Sri Lanka. Cricket in India is administered by the Board of Control for Cricket in India, and national competitions include the Ranji Cup, Copa Duleep, Deodhar Cup, Iran Cup Series and Challenger. In addition, the Indian Cricket League and Indian Premier League Twenty20 cricket contests.
Recently, tennis has become more popular due to the victories of the India team in the Davis Cup. Football is also a popular sport in northeast India, West Bengal, Goa and Kerala. The football team of India has won the Federation Cup Soccer in South Asia several times. Chess, commonly said to have originated in India, has also gained popularity with the increase in the number of "Great Masters" Traditional sports include indios. kabaddi, kho kho, and gilli-danda, which are played on the national level. India is also home to many ancient martial arts like varma kalai kalaripayatu and.
